We are looking forward to working with the leading national apprenticeship provider, SR Apprenticeships, following their recent registration as Members of Logistics Skills Network.  As an OFTSED Grade 2 ‘Good’ provider, SR Apprenticeships specialises in apprenticeship training across a diverse range of professional services and Supply Chain & Logistics sectors including Leadership, Management, Freight Forwarding, and Customer Service.

On joining the LSN, Commercial Director, Nick Colquitt, said, “The team at SR Apprenticeships is delighted to have joined the Logistics Skills Network.  We look forward to working with the LSN team, as well as the other members, to better represent the role that Providers play in supporting the UK logistics and passenger transport sector.
The sector has shown itself to be vital to the success of the UK economy and this success is built on a strong ethic of skills and workforce development, regardless of the size of the organisation.  At SR Apprenticeships we’re currently working with some of the largest companies in the sector, as well as smaller, local, specialist organisations.  All have embraced the role that apprenticeships play in supporting their growth and ambitions and we hope that, through membership of the LSN, more companies, and their staff, will start to benefit from apprenticeships.

We want our membership to do more than just benefit SR Apprenticeships.  As specialists in the sector, we believe that we can have a strong voice in influencing government, regulators and the wider sector about skills needs and demands and the best way in which they can be addressed through recruitment and training.  By presenting a unified voice on these matters we want the sector to be stronger and better able to cope with the challenges that it currently faces both as a result of the Covid pandemic and also in its response to Brexit“.

LSN UPDATE

Logistics Skills Network has now passed the 50 mark of specialist logistics training provider Members. We are also in the process of creating an employer advisory board, with our first one committed. This will enable employers to network and share best practice, helping shape education and learning in the transport and logistics sector. Through our dialogue with DVSA, resumption of LGV testing was effective from the 12 April avoiding a 10-day buffer delay, which was that case with car driver training / testing.
